Choosing the best high chair for a baby or toddler can be a challenge.  Whether you’re looking for a premium high chair that can accommodate a baby and toddler at the same time, a space saver high chair or a portable high chair, my 2018 high chair review has you covered.

First, I can’t tell you enough how important it is to choose a high chair that works for your family, lifestyle and dining area.  Your high chair will become a staple of your home, and your child will spend countless hours trying new food, learning to use utensils and making a mess in their high chair.

During my work in the childcare industry, I had exposure to a lot of different types of high chairs, and many were well suited for their perspective families.  If you have the space or more than one child, you may want to consider a premium high chair that converts from baby to big kid and offers additional seating for an older sibling.  If you are looking for a space saving chair, you may want a high chair that can be placed on an existing chair.  For outings, you should consider a travel high chair.

Graco Blossom 4-in-1 Convertible High Chair Seating System

The Graco Blossom high chair is a wonderful option for families with more than one small child and who have the space for two chairs.  This chair converts from a reclining infant high chair to an infant booster, to a toddler booster and to a youth chair.  With this high chair system, you can accommodate two children at the same time.

Similar to other high chairs, it offers a one-hand removable tray that is dishwasher safe, wheels and a machine washable seat cover.  So, this Graco high chair is quick and easy to clean or move, which is great for moms trying to wrangle multiple children to the dinner table.  Furthermore, the infant high chairs include a five point safety harness, and the toddler chair include a three point safety harness.

Fisher-Price SpaceSaver High Chair

For families that have an extra chair at the table but not a lot of extra space, this Fisher-Price high chair straps securely to an existing chair.  You can adjust the chair’s height and recline positions.

One noteworthy feature of this high chair is that this it is designed so you can hang bibs, towels and toys from the front of it, making it even more convenient!  No more scrambling to find another bib while your baby has a meltdown.  As with the premium chair above, it boasts a one-hand removable tray that is dishwasher safe as well as a machine washable seat cover.  For safety, it also includes a five point harness.

If you are planning to use a space saving chair like the one above, you may also want to consider buying a chair cover like the Prince Lionheart Seat Neat.  Feeding a small child is a messy endeavor.  I have this chair cover, and it does a fantastic job of keeping my upholstered chair clean and protected.

ciao! baby Portable Travel High Chair

The person who gave this portable high chair to us at our baby shower is a genius!  We have used this portable high chair so much.  It is foldable, lightweight, and can be carried hands-free over your shoulder, which is a huge help when you have to also carry a baby and diaper bag.

Plus, this travel high chair allows you to comfortably feed your child without strapping a chair to a table or setting your child on the table or floor.  It’s quick to setup and take down, and you can sit and eat while feeding your child because you are all sitting at about the same height.  It wipes clean and quickly folds into a carrying bag for easy storage.  Additionally, this high chair does have a safety harness.

This portable high chair gave our family a lot of freedom, and it alleviated the need for grandparents to buy a high chair to keep at their house.  We’ve taken this portable high chair to picnics, family dinners, friends houses, restaurants and rest stops.  It’s so nice to be able safely and easily feed our little anytime, anywhere.  We even use it when we invite friends over for a play date.  I honestly can’t say enough good things about this portable high chair!
